What is the Smarter Artist Summit??
The Smarter Artist Summit is a first-of-its-kind conference specifically tailored to author-entrepreneurs. Sean Platt, David W Wright and Johnny B Truant, hosts of the popular Self-Publishing Podcast, have brought together many of the best minds in indie publishing for 2 days of teaching and discussion.
What’s included?
2 jam-packed days of learning, ideas, and making new friends. Six speakers plus Johnny, Sean and Dave discussing all of the most critical aspects of becoming a smarter artist.
Drinks and snacks provided both days. For lunch, we suggest you go out and explore Austin, rather than bring anything yourself. The venue is within walking distance of a dozen restaurants (including Johnny’s favorite Gourdough’s), so you can spend your lunch hour walking to tacos with your new writer friends.

Until then, we have a private Facebook group where you can connect with other attendees. Please also feel free to use #SAS2016 on social media to connect in advance of attending.
How do I get there?
If you are flying into town, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (code AUS) is fantastic. If you are driving, the address of the venue is 411 W Monroe St, Austin, TX 78704, just a bit south of the Colorado River / Lady Bird Lake, right off of 1st street. There isn’t any parking available directly at the venue, but we will be sending details for alternatives as the event gets closer.
Where should I stay?
We are finalizing a block of discounted rooms at a local hotel. You are welcome to book there (we’ll send the link as soon as it is available) or wherever you like. The address of the event is 411 W Monroe St, Austin, TX 78704
Do you need volunteers?
Yes, we would love volunteers. We will be asking for help from among the registered attendees once the event is closer. Please email Amy at help@sterlingandstone.net if you have questions.
What is the schedule for the Summit?
The specifics will be released a few weeks prior to the Smarter Artist Summit. Please plan to be at Vuka from about 8am to 5pm on both Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31.
How do I change or cancel my registration?

What do I need to bring with me to the Summit?
Please bring a government or school-issued photo ID to check-in for the Summit. You will also want to bring a laptop or notebook for jotting down ideas, tips and other gems gleaned from our brilliant speakers.
How much does it cost?
$499 includes your ticket for both days.
